WHICH ENGINES WILL THESE UNITS FIT?
The B & C Model SD 8 and SD 20 have been designed to mount on a standard vacuum pump pad. Model 200G is a gear-driven unit that mates directly to the standard alternator/generator accessory drive of the C85, C90, and O-200 Continental engines. Model L40 and L60 are belt-driven units that are tailored for the Lycoming 118 HP through the 300 HP engines.

MODEL SD 8
Spline-driven 8 AMP - 14 Volt power system for mounting on a vacuum pump pad. Price includes alternator assembly with male spline and regulator. (protrudes 4.75" from mounting surface.)

MODEL SD 20
A high-performance alternator that mounts on a standard vacuum pump pad. This model can be used as a primary or standby alternator system. The spline-driven rotor is dynamically balanced with a state-of-the-art computerized balancing machine which ensures a smooth running, long-lasting quality alternator. It will clear the tach cable and oil filter on Lycoming engines. OUTPUT: 20 amps @ 3,500 ALTERNATOR rpm, at 14 OR 28 Volts. (Protrudes 5.75" from mounting pad.)

bcalt2.jpg MODEL 200G
Gear-driven 12 AMP - 14 Volt system for the Continental O-200, C90, C85. Price includes alternator assembly and regulator. THE CUSTOMER MUST FURNISH THE ACCESSORY DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY. (Shipped to B & C for installation on your alternator.)
MODEL L40
Belt-driven 40 AMP - 14 or 28 Volt power system for Lycoming engines including NEW alternator, mounting bracket, belt tension arm, belt and mounting hardware. Dynamically balanced rotor for good bearing and bracket life. Ready to install.

MODEL L60 Belt-driven 60 AMP -14 or 28 Volt power system for Lycoming engines including NEW alternator, mounting bracket, belt tension arm, belt and mounting hardware. Dynamically balanced rotor for good bearing and bracket life. Ready to install.

MODEL LR-3 ALTERNATOR CONTROL
Most regulators offered today in automotive and aircraft fields are the "switching" variety. That is, alternator field voltage is controlled by succession of pulses; field excitation is turned completely on and off several hundred times per second. Switching regulators have performed well in aircraft for many years past but LORAN systems and composite airplanes mandate critical reconsideration of potential radio noise sources. Linear regulators generate no audio or radio noise. The B & C Model LR-3 functions as a linear regulator. Further, the LR-3 contains solid-state over voltage protection and low-voltage warning light. To acquire capabilities equal to the LR-3 one may have to purchase, install and wire three separate devices.

The LR-3 is the only regulator offered to general aviation which automatically adjusts bus voltage by sensing battery temperature. This combination of features in a single product makes the B & C LR-3 a lightweight, space-saving and cost-effective alternative for an aircraft electrical system. Compatible with most alternators used in contemporary aircraft systems. 14 or 28 Volt Regulators output is overload and short circuit protected.

Designed to meet RFI emission limits of DO-160C, Category Z. Designed to tolerate vibrations per DO-16C, envelope R Voltage spike and surge protected per DO-160C, Category Z Altitude rate -1,000 to 30,000 feet Operating temperature -20 to +70 degrees C, dead air Finish: Chem film DIMENSIONS: Base; 5.7" x 2.4" (3.1" at terminal strip) HEIGHT: 2.7" WEIGHT; 0.6 pounds

MODEL LS-1 ALTERNATOR CONTROL
The LS-1 Alternator Control has the same features as the LR-3 - however, it has been specially designed to turn a 14 Volt Alternator into a 28 Volt Alternator. B & C Specialty Products, Inc. is proud to have been selected as supplier for the historic VOYAGER flight. Two specially modified alternators and two LR-2 voltage regulators were used successfully during the VOYAGER flight around the world.
