Sky Ox Portable Oxygen Systems for Aircraft

A leader in Aircraft Oxygen since 1963

Sky Ox Kits      Sky Ox Accessories

Introduction

The FAA Requires Use Of Supplemental Oxygen - When flying above 12,500 ft. for more than 30 minutes, or flying above 14,000 ft., pilots and crewmembers are required to use oxygen. Above 15,000 ft., all occupants, including passengers, must be provided with supplemental oxygen.
Oxygen cylinder Dangers of Hypoxia (oxygen deficiency) - The chances of HYPOXIA increase with altitude.
  • Decreased night vision beginning as low as 5,000 ft. above sea level.
  • At 10,000 ft. forced concentration, fatigue, headache.
  • At 12,000 ft. & above, deterioration of alertness and mental efficiency.
  • At 14,000 ft., forgetfulness, incompetence, indifference, distinct impairment of mathematical and reasoning capabilities make flying hazardous.
  • At 17,000 ft., serious handicap and collapse may occur.
  • Smokers will experience these symptoms 3,000 - 4,000 ft. lower.
  • Pilots impaired by hypoxia are usually unable to judge level of impairment, similar to the effects of alcohol.
Supplemental oxygen is important to any flight over 5,000 ft.

Sky Ox - A Complete System

  • Self contained unit
  • No installation required
  • Easy to use
  • No FAA/CASA weight and balance change necessary
  • Includes pressurized cylinder with Oxymizer Cannulas, lines, flow indicator, quick disconnects, and spare mask.
  • Easy to refill (simple & inexpensive) refill with aviation-grade breathing oxygen (MIL-027210, Type 1)
  • Light weight and easy to fasten to the back of a cockpit seat. Truly portable.
  • Adjustable flow regulator set by altitude or special flow. As you change altitude, adjust the flow control valve for more or less oxygen (the upper gauge shows altitude and flow setting, the lower gauge shows remaining cylinder pressure).
Easy To Use
  • When reaching proper altitude, turn the control valve on the Adjustable Flow Regulator to the proper flow; Oxygen flows when a breathing apparatus is plugged into any one of the 4-ports. Unused ports remain sealed.
  • Flow does not have to be adjusted if using more than one outlet.
  • Check charts provided with cannulas for proper flow setting.
  • Fiber wrap bottles available.
Example
Oxymizer Cannula
Example
  • Reduces oxygen usage over 50%.
  • Stores oxygen in the pendant reservoir.
  • Pendant rests on your chest and not your lip.
  • Free to drink a beverage and talk in total comfort.
  • Use Cannula up to 18,000 ft.
  • Use with the Adjustable Regulators or A-3 Flowmeter (only required for other systems which do not have a regulator.

Accessories

A-3 Flowmeter
  • Allows the use of the Oxymizer in conjunction with built in oxygen systems and constant flow portables.
  • A-3 Flowmeters are not required with the Sky Ox adjustable flow regulators.
  • Quadruples the range of the old style systems with a lower flow rate.
  • One flow meter is required with each breathing device.
Padded Carrying Bag

Available with all Sky Ox Cylinders. Bag can be used to secure system inside the plane.

Standard Mask & Hose Assembly (Standard Flow only)

Fits all Sky Ox systems. Includes mask with breathing bag, hose, positive flow indicator and quick-disconnect fitting.

Also available: Deluxe Airline Mask with Built-In Microphone

Systems with masks can be used above 20,000 ft.
